The research assistant works with archival and contemporary Hawaiian-language materials, applying careful documentation practices and contributing to a collaborative editorial workflow.
The position is remote within Hawaiʻi, with periodic in-person project gatherings.

Responsibilities
- Locate and organize relevant Hawaiian-language source material.
- Transcribe, proofread, and document primary sources.
- Maintain research notes, citations, and project files.
- Participate in editorial review and project meetings.

Qualifications
- Intermediate or advanced Hawaiian-language ability.
- Research experience with primary or archival sources.
- Careful attention to orthography, citation, and detail.
- Ability to manage independent work and deadlines.
